Which of your current endeavors are you most passionate about?

Empowering rural communities. From primary students who still believe that they can do anything, secondary students who need every possible opportunity to help prepare themselves for the future, teachers who always want to be better, firefighters, law enforcement personnel and first responders who dedicate their lives to making their communities safer and small businesses trying to stay competitive in a global market. Helping rural citizens have true equality of access to education is my primary driving force.

Who inspires you these days?

Sir Ken Robinson who puts a great voice to positive choices for the direction of education. Dave Gural, math teacher extraordinaire, who is masterful and passionate about sharing his knowledge with rural students using video teleconferencing. Greg Zickau, CTO for the State of Idaho, whose elegant leadership style inspires everyone he meets.

Imagine a world unconstrained by bandwidth.  How would it change what you do and the people you serve?

It is hard to imagine such a world. Our political leaders constantly claim wide scale broadband access and I still find entire rural school districts with a single 256 Kb DSL connection. However, if such a world did exist, I think that the challenge of filtering all the choices will be better accomplished by our native digital citizens not our digital immigrants like myself.

How would you describe what you do?

I empower people and communities to be global education consumers.
